Berggasthof Willy-Merkl-Haus in Schliersee

We were there in July 2020. The rooms were simple and quaint. The food was gigantic as it was served. The breakfast was also very good and we were always asked if everything was okay. The boss and the service were very friendly and nice. Apparently there are always those who have to complain. (Probably Preißn). I've read the reviews and the answers from the host are simply great. We would love to come back.

When you indicated that you only wanted to have a short drink, the interest in us as a guest quickly passed. Guests after us were immediately brought to a table, we should wait until something becomes available. The whole thing in an unfriendly tone by the lady.

there were four of us to eat today - and we were all very pleased with the food: Wiener Schnitzel - spinach dumplings - pork roast - very tasty ?? The duck was also excellent, unfortunately there was a little too little of the delicious sauce - also everything was arranged very nicely. So absolute recommendation???? and on previous visits I know that the sweet dishes are also very tasty!

Cozy, clean and very inexpensive hotel right on the lake. The boss looked after us very well and also had a lot of tips for excursions or restaurants in the area. Breakfast was great, even small extra requests weren't a problem. It's not the newest house now, but it's definitely a tough place for hiking and a cozy weekend with the boys.

Breakfast was awesome, rooms were small but OK, boss and waitress were always very friendly and hospitable to us, prices are very cheap for the location. All in all a successful vacation - anytime again

Received very unfriendly, then we were moaned by the waitress because we had folded the table and the awning had turned out because of the rain. That's not how I imagined a vacation in Bavaria.

No card payments in 2020 and that even in times of Covid-19 cash is insisted on is a shame! There are no good reasons for this in the present century ... unless you have no interest in keeping the cash register clean. Food was average, service a little unfriendly and not very accommodating.

Sunny terrace and very good value for money. Highly recommended if you spend a day at the Spitzingsee! Please note: the kitchen closes at 7 am, so be on time

Rating restaurant outside: We were served very, very friendly and the food was really delicious. Also absolutely okay in terms of price. The only deduction is for the sanitary facilities. Inside everything was a bit older and not that nice. We'll be back for the terrace.

I can compare this hotel to an albanian 1star hotels. 1 good thing is the food, but 3 euros for 0.5litre of sparkling water is too much. We booked 2 weeks ahead (dubble bed) , got confirmation email, called 2 days before to be sure, they told us they dont even rent for 1night, and they didnt have confirmation. They gave us an other room, with separate beds . For first look it looks clean, but the second you want to use anything it falls apart. The nightlamps dont work. The matress is old (probably from the middle age), the springs gonna give you a good massage at night. Small window, no light coming in, and its blocked by a big tree. Te tap is dripping every 2 seconds, and the sink is cloaked (water doesnt flush) so the dripping is even worse, so dont expect too much sleep. If you want to shower, the water leaks to the floor so its not possible to dry the feet. The bedframe is put together for the eye, not the body, the bedframe springs are not secured, so if you want to turn around while trying to sleep, the bed is going to fall apart under you. The dinner was served with a lot of attitude, i just hope the waitress didnt spit in it. In general from 0-100 points i would give 3 points for the sleeping experience, if the 0 is sleeping in the lake with your head underwater. For the breakfast (doesnt matter how many you are) you get 0.5l of orange juice, and 0.25 sparkling water (wich i understand if its so expensive), the food was again good. If i would have a tent, i would rather choose that. Its almost the same experience and cheaper. Rooms doenst have toilets, there is outside for everybody to use. In albania at least we got a smile, dont expect a welcoming feeling here. I gave 1 star because i coud not give - 3.

We had booked for a week and had a simple but cozy and clean room with a bathroom. The house is right on the lake and there is a terrace for alfresco dining! We thought that was great! The food is really delicious and fresh !!!! We ate our way through the whole menu and found everything to be very good!

First class food! We stayed at the hotel for a week and ordered the menu up and down. Whether soup, main course or dessert, everything was delicious! The terrace with a view of the lake is fantastic in good weather. The hotel rooms are simple and a bit old, but clean and comfortable!

This was the first time in the Willy Merkl Haus and certainly not the last time. Both the spaetzle and the cordon bleu with fried potatoes were delicious. The male waitress was brisk, even if at first he made a grumpy impression on us, which he made up for with the nice chat at the end. In my opinion, the issue of recording the contact details of guests, something that restaurants are now unfortunately obliged to do, has been unfortunate. I don't mind that I leave the information such as name, telephone number, date and time on the worksheet. But I don't think it's good that other (foreign) guests can see my data afterwards, because the slip is passed from table to table. There are certainly better options for ensuring data protection.

I went to the mountain inn yesterday with my brother after a hike. It was a very nice visit here, the food was fresh and delicious. Short waiting times, nice service. We love to come back and try the tasty looking desserts.

Super Marillenknödel

The worst service ever. Very unfriendly stuff specially the old waitress and the blond- pink lady. The place wasnt full but still no one from the waitress like to serve us. Of our "excuse me can we order" the old man turn us the back and left. So we asked the second waitress. She came to our table but with any "hallo" bad face that she need to serve us. We got our drinks but no one ask us if we like to other some food. So we was waiting and waiting again about 25min till we ask the waitress if we can order food. If we will be by ourselves without hungry child we will left this place. I will understand if this place will be full but no it wasn't only rude waitress which doesn't like to work. The guests next table like to pay for ages but one more time the waitress ignored them too. The lady said "excuse me can we pay our bus is leaving soon" response of the waitress with ironic "oh really is it that bad?" So back talking to the guest in this restaurant is normal. The same like the owner back talking to all bad comens. The old waitress brought us some salat to the mains meals and ask my English friends which salat is whos as they dont understand the question in german he shakes angry his head. There was no English menu and my friends without me speaking german where not able to order food. When we pay no one said thank you, have a nice day or something like that. First and last time in this restaurant!

The waiter was so rude!!!! Food was OK, nothing super, but the service was so bad it was almost laughable!

Long long wait... A salad and a schnitzel, exactly 60 minutes. Apparently standard service as no apologies were given.
